Today, education is stressful and more and more students are losing the ability to work cooperatively and engage with others. In my classroom, I use different ways to engage students and I have found that through games, you increase student engagement, lower stress and still learn valuable skills.
Playing games addresses social emotional awareness in the classroom, improves class climate and teaches problem-solving skills by helping to create a more positive learning environment through play.
Studies show that students that are allowed to interact through play, have less behavior problems. In addition, incentives help students set and meet their goals.
