My Project
For this project, I am requesting some games and math manipulatives for my ELA and Social Studies classroom that will engage the students academically and socially. These games and math manipulatives will help the students practice their vocabulary skills, inference skills, collaboration skills, and critical thinking skills in a fun, exciting way. Learning in my classroom has to expand outside of just pencil and paper and sitting at a desk. The students will engage in playing a game of Jenga, but with Social Studies review questions. The Jenga game will be modified to make a fun review game for Social Studies. In additon, the large, colorful dice will be used to create a review game in ELA and Social Studies called The Roll Master. The math manipulatives chips can be used as great BINGO chips when the students play review games in ELA and Social Studies.
Learning in my classroom has to go beyond just using pencil and paper and sitting at a desk, so why not incorporate some fun board games where students still utilize their reading skills but in an engaging way?
In my classroom, I want to always make sure that students are having fun and still learning at the same time from the first bell to the last bell. These games/manipulatives would be a great addition to the classroom having more engaging activities.
My students are some of the most amazing students, and they deserve the world. I want to make learning fun and engaging for them so that they enjoy coming to my class each and every day!!
