This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
While our students constantly adapt, the provided curriculum could be more flexible. Having taught for almost twenty-five years, our students have changed. Combine that constant evolution with the impacts of Covid, and our students today radically differ from five years ago. Our folk songs and dances are still relevant; however, presenting them in a new and fun way will help encourage the students to learn.
I am requesting music curriculum to provide the opportunity to experience a new and innovative approach to learning music.
Gaming is familiar to students of all ages - transforming our lessons with a game-like format will help the students connect with the information more tactilely!
The music curriculum requested are specifically for Kindergarten and Second Grade levels. This will allow us to implement the program and assess the benefits of the essential products in the GamePlan repertoire. In addition to these materials, I hope we can later get the digital items and supplemental books available.
These resources will assist in the classroom and engage our students in learning to be literate musicians.
