My Students
Questioning, asking, learning. That is the typical day in my fourth grade classroom. My goals for these lovely little humans is to give them as many avenues to learn about the world around them all the while fostering the drive to learn.
My classroom is filled with learners who love to read and write.
They can often be found huddled in small groups, discussing their writing or the plot of the latest cool book they have read. We have students whose family heritage span all over the globe, with some students being first generation Americans. Our school is one that basks in the glow of literature from kindergarten to fifth grade. It is amazing to see a school so engaged in all the different way children learn.
My Project
Our classroom has always been a place where we celebrate different types of learning. Through all the reading and writing, it is easy to realize that there are other ways that kids can learn life skills. What better way than board games?!? Board games have the ability to teach while having fun! The skills being taught can range from logic, strategy, planning, agility, fine motor, all while boosting reading and writing skills. It can also help with cooperative learning with a strong emphasis on the social aspect of playing appropriately with peers.
The donations to this classroom will drastically improve our classroom by allowing children to learn in different ways.
The games in this donation will give children an opportunity to grow in many ways, learn a bunch of new skills, all while having fun!
