My Project
My students are some of the most resilient and creative individuals I’ve ever met. As Special Education students in an alternative school setting, they face unique challenges but continue to show up with determination, humor, and an eagerness to grow. What makes them special is their ability to rise above obstacles and their willingness to explore new ways to succeed.
This club isn’t just about gaming—it’s about giving my students a platform to shine, a place where they can feel empowered, connected, and valued.
This project is designed to create an inclusive, engaging e-sports club where my students can learn, connect, and thrive. We’ve already been fortunate to receive donated gaming consoles, but we need the right equipment to make the club a reality. A TV, TV stand, sound bar, and counter-height tables are essential for transforming our space into a functional and inviting environment.
The TV and sound bar will provide a high-quality, immersive gaming experience, allowing students to better engage with gameplay and strategy. The counter-height tables will serve as a comfortable, structured workspace where students can collaborate, plan, and reflect. This setup will foster skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving—skills that are vital for their academic and personal growth.
My goal for this project is to create a safe and inspiring space where my students can explore their interests, build confidence, and develop skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom. E-sports will provide a unique way for them to practice social interaction, strategic thinking, and perseverance, all while having fun and feeling valued.
