My Students
My students are a diverse group that blends together to help each other learn and be successful. At our school, we strive to create a "family" where students from all different grade levels and personal backgrounds feel comfortable and confident in themselves, each other and their teachers. We strive to create a school where people feel valued as an individual and as a learner. Everyone has something to offer and everyone is an important part of the "family."
At our school, our mantra is that we are " The best at getting better." Which means we (students and staff alike) are always trying to grow as people and learners.
My Project
My students need engaging and educational games to strengthen their critical thinking, creativity and logic skills.
By utilizing activities to enhance critical thinking, students are better able to understand why something has occurred as opposed to just understanding what has occurred.
This deeper understanding allows the students to better analyze the circumstances surrounding the occurrence and differing viewpoints about the occurrence.
When students use their critical thinking skills the topic sticks with them more and are understood more strongly. When students develop the skills to think critically they use it in all aspects of their lives. They look for how and why something is the way it is versus just knowing how to find the answer.
