Game of Tomes

Help me give my students a diversified classroom library to enhance their reading journey. Books like The Hollow Inside and the Shatter Me series provide high-interest material that encourages students to read regularly.

My Project

I teach mostly 10th graders who began the year as reluctant readers. I have provided them with a classroom library in which they can choose any book they like. They have a designated time each day to read for enjoyment.

As the year has progressed, my students have realized a love of reading and enjoy discussing their favorite books.

Some students, though, have become such avid readers, they are flying through everything on my shelves. The more books that I have, the more they read.

This process has made them better readers and has impacted their participation and grades in not only English class, but also in every other subject.
