This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Art isn't only for the affluent. My students are ready to paint like the pros! 5th grade artists want to express themselves like the famous artists they have studied and whose work they have seen in the museums.

My students study art for one hour each day and are developing a college-prep understanding of vocabulary and techniques that help them capture what they see and think.

All of these young artist love to express themselves with paint! Imagine what they could do on canvas!

My Project

Pre-stretched cotton canvases would give my students a chance to go through an authentic process while also creating a lasting product! Students love to don their smocks and use acrylic paint on paper but canvas would rock their world! What's more, we will turn the halls of our school into an art gallery full of their brilliant paintings.

My students believe in the power of art to expand thinking, to tell stories and to enrich the world.

The opportunity to paint on canvas and turn our halls into a gallery of their work will solidify this belief as well as increase their joy and confidence as artists!
