My goals for this school year involve using more technology and continuing to engage students through hands on exploration in science.
We are working on inquiry based learning where we ask questions and search for answers.
Our school sits in a rural valley in San Diego county. Our students come from varied backgrounds. Many have stable family lives while some have grown up in a group home in our district boundary. Our staff is committed to student success and working together to help all students.
My Project
These materials will be used in class rotations. Students will get to move and discover as they move from station to station doing activities. Some students will be reading and working on scientific vocabulary while others will be using the Vernier probeware to graph temperature or pH data. The Vernier probeware will help students connect the importance of math and science while they learn to read graphs and view authentic data.
The Vernier Lab Quest 2 will bring hands on science into the classroom and teach science how scientists in the real world work.
Research shows that students who collect their own data and review it without a time lapse, score better on standardized tests.
