This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are not just dreamers, but they are thinkers. Just like when I was a child they also dream of being scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, politicians, president. They are the mirror image of us and our future. Unfortunately in a low-income neighborhood, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. For instance, many of my students are being raised in a single parent household. I understand that I may not be able to control what happens at home, however I can control their experience during school hours.

My Project

These materials will help my students be prepared and be more engaged in the sport of baseball. The backpacks will help them carry all personal materials deeded for a game. The bat bag will help us be more organized and make it easier to carry them around. We understand that presentation is a huge key on how an athlete may feel about themself. The socks and belts will help my students feel more motivated and feel like a true athletic team. When adults begin to show students the they care about what they do in life. This will make them see things different from what they are use to. "Kill them with kindness"
