Future Scientists Need Funds for Dissection Field Trip!
My students need help covering the cost of admission and round trip bus transportation so they can go on a field trip to the Adventure Science Center for dissection of fetal pigs during our Organ Systems unit!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dudek's classroom raised $1,409

My Students
I am a science teacher in Nashville, Tennessee at an inner city charter school that serves primarily low income communities. My students are my heart and soul, and are the greatest scientists I've ever met. They crave the opportunity to be truly inside science, watching the things they are learning about in the classroom come alive right before them in experiments. I am not going to let anything come between them from those experiences, especially not funding.
In January, I begin my unit on Organ Systems, and this project will cover the cost of bus transportation and the admission fee to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville.
During the field trip, my students will participate in hands-on labs dissecting animals while learning the organ systems!
This experience will not only allow them to grow their love for science, but also allow them to learn organs up close and travel outside of the comfort of their classroom, which may be an experience they will never have the opportunity to have again.
These kids are my everything and the reason I go to work each and every day. Because field trips are not in our school's funding, the only thing standing in between these kids and this experience is the means to afford the trip.
My Project
The Adventure Science Center allows students to participate in hands-on lab dissections. These kids want to be doctors, engineers, researchers, nurses, chemists, the list goes on. The passion they have for science is truly incredible.
Allowing my students to spark this love even further by giving them their first and possibly only experience with real organs would be a life changing experience.
Some of these kids have never been on any field trip at all, and most have not been on a field trip in a couple of years. This would mean the world to all of them, and myself.
