Future Scientists and Mathematicians Need Your Help
Help me give my students materials to complete STEM lessons, such as the Hand2Mind VersaTiles for Math Mastery, Owl Pellet materials and Water Testers for Science Design Challenges, and Brain Flakes for Engineering activities.

My Students
I absolutely love the energy and creativity that my ten- and eleven-year-old students bring into our classroom every single day. They are full of passion, they love to learn, and they love coming to school. My students come to school from all backgrounds, all cultures, and from all family situations.
My students are energetic fifth graders.
We become a family throughout the year, supporting each other through the good times and challenges, and help each other to master the standards while still making learning fun.
My Project
My classroom is buzzing with learning. Every day during STEM time, my students are making connections between our standards and the real world. They are discussing, encouraging, creating models, and answering essential questions - just like scientists and mathematicians do in the work place. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. I chose each of these items to help assist our lessons in one of those areas.
These materials will make an immediate impact for our STEM lessons.
For Science, my students will soon need to learn about food chains and a great hands on lesson involves Owl Pellets. The owl pellets, tweezers, poster set will make our lesson a lot more meaningful as they can dive in and discover animal bones in a disgusting (yet satisfying) activity.
For Technology, another unit that we will tackle involves having students create their own Water Filtration Device. I would love to add some water testers to our classroom so they can measure and graph the data.
Our Engineering materials involve these Brain Flakes. My students love to build and design, and I would love to give them this choice to add to our Friday Engineering options.
For our Math lessons, I try to create a hands on environment that students have fun while learning and reviewing key skills. This set from Hands2Mind captures both review in a game mentality. I would love to add this to my small group station.
Thank you for considering my project, and helping my class reach our goal.
