This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a title 1 school where 93% of my students receive free lunch. Most of my students are second language learners and come from low income families. My students are great, they come to school everyday with an enthusiastic attitude. Most of them lack the technology resources at home to complete projects that require technology. Some of my students are on a waiting list to be tested for learning disabilities which makes it harder for them to focus and follow information when it is not in front of them. My students are not reading at grade level and have a hard time following along when the class is reading together.
Lack of resources should not limit my students’ dreams and aspirations.
My Project
Most of my students are not reading at grade level and some have difficulty focusing on the task at hand. Having a projector and an ELMO will make it easier for my students to follow along when working as a whole class. Students will also be able to create projects and share them with the class.
I believe having more technology resources in the classroom will motivate my students in many ways.
I will be able to provide visuals for those students who might be having difficulty understanding a lesson. I will use these resources to enhance and create better lessons for my students.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
