Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom supports up to 30 students ranging from age 3-5 years old. The class is made up of students with and without disabilities and of all races and backgrounds. All of my students come from low income families, from the City of Springfield. Preschool is a child's first school experience, and my goal is to lay the foundation for a love for learning.

Science, technology, engineering, art and math activities support a child’s ability to solve problems, work cooperatively, and opportunities to take learning into their own hands.

My Project

Having time to explore STEM materials during whole group lessons and individually during center time will benefit the beginning problem solving skills of our most curious learners. When students have fun and engaging materials, they create new and exciting ways to support their learning. STEM activities support all aspects of the curriculum with a preschool classroom. Not only academically, but socially students will be working together, sharing and exploring one another’s ideas. My student learning outcomes are to encourage the students natural curiosity and help support their problem solving skills. Hopefully the children will gain the confidence to try and solve any problem they are faced in the future.
