My 3rd grade students have diligently studied the brain from the basic anatomy to how each part functions and so much in between. Sheep brain dissection will not only help to reinforce my students' learning, but provide them with a culminating experience for the end of our unit.
Interacting with a real brain will help students appreciate the complexity of the brain and give them a clearer understanding of how the parts are interrelated.
Hands-on learning experiences have proven invaluable for my students. They are not only more engaged but able to apply their skills and connect all their previous learning. This will be an invaluable experience!
