This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are constantly in motion. Our learning revolves around learning centers and creative activities.
My students are very creative and eager to learn.
They are also very diverse learners who struggle with learning and retaining information. I teach third, fourth and fifth grade in a Special Day Program. Students at our school live at or below the poverty level and qualify for the free lunch program.
My Project
My students need 5 Kindel Fire 7 HD Tablets. I would make use of the tablets in my intervention station. There, students can use applications that fit their current learning needs such as having access to high interest learning apps, electronic books and audio books. In addition to using the tablets for individualized academic instruction, my students would also be using the tablets to make stop-motion and live action video productions as part of our arts and technology integration curriculum. When students have greater opportunities to be creative and expressive, they are more engaged in their learning.
Thank you for considering funding my project.
I will be able to incorporate technology as a regular part of my classroom instruction, therefore broadening my students' twenty-first century learning skills and academic growth.
