This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We serve a diverse student population that reflects the rich cultural makeup of the surrounding community. Many students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are often the first in their families to pursue post‑secondary education or professional certifications. The school’s commitment to providing rigorous academics within a supportive environment ensures that students from all walks of life have access to programs that prepare them for college, career, and beyond. This diversity not only enriches the learning environment but also mirrors the inclusive nature of the healthcare industry they are preparing to enter.

Establishing a Medical Assistant Skills Lab directly supports students enrolled in the school’s healthcare program of study by providing hands‑on, industry‑aligned training they would otherwise not have access to.

We are requesting a Venipuncture and Injection Training Arm Light, The Apprentice Doctor IV & Phlebotomy Practice Kits, Fully Stocked CNA Totes, and more for Medical Assistant Skills Lab to prepare for future healthcare careers. In this lab, students will practice clinical skills, learn to use medical equipment, and build confidence in real‑world procedures, better preparing them for certifications, internships, and future careers in healthcare. By investing in this Skills Lab, we are equipping students with practical experiences that bridge the gap between classroom instruction and the high expectations of the medical field. Our main goal is for our students to pass their medical assistance certification exam before high school graduation so they can earn a living wage upon graduation.
