This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach low income children in Little Haiti, located in the inner city in Miami-Dade County. My students are eager to learn and just need more educational resources to help them become successful learners. English is their second language and they need to be given many opportunities to explore and engage in learning English. My students are ready to learn and look forward to the challenge. They are fearless! That’s what I love about my little learners. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my students.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will help my students express their creativity as they are learning math skills. With the materials, they will be able to work on computer programs independently, do it in flexible seating and play learning games in groups. With the use of the Unix cubes, my students will learn to add and subtract in a fun way. My students will be able to draw, write, and express their learning through fun hands-on activities. Thanks for supporting young learners through creativity. These materials will allow them to work on computer programs using headphones and flexible seating. The students will be able to work in small groups working on number sense facts. They will also be able to chart their learning.
