This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, with a majority of students living in poverty. Many of my students have faced difficulty and challenges in such a young age.
Despite the many challenges they face, they always come to school eager to learn and strive for excellence.
With the lack of technology at home for many of my students, I believe they deserve to have access to as much technology as possible in the classroom.
My duty as an educator is to provide my students with the best education possible and I believe these materials will enhance their learning in so many ways.
My Project
I'm requesting tablets and headphones to use in my classroom to better facilitate math and reading instruction. Our reading curriculum uses e-books for our differentiated learners and multilevel readers. Our math curriculum has interactive math problems that the students can solve using technology. As the years go on, technology has been incorporated into everything we do. It is important to expose students to technology. I know that utilizing tablets and headphones will capture my students interest and imagination. With the tablets and they are able to listen to how words are formed and how to add. This will change their learning.
