Excellent and motivated scholars are adjectives that describes the groups of young people at West EC. I have the honor and privilege to work with all students at West ranging from pre-k3 to 8th grade. They all have in common eagerness to learn and better themselves through education. Our students do not allow their circumstances to determine their endurance.
West is a Title 1 school and more than half of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
Our school test scores are rising thanks to the dedication of teachers and students. Many of our students do not have access to technology, especially outside of school. Unfortunately, being a Title 1 school our technology resources lag significantly. Our scholars deserve the best and need reliable technology in order to be efficient, especially considering we live in a tech world.
My Project
I am requesting Chromebooks for my students. The Chrombeooks already have a special home in our library, we just need them. Students are so excited about having technology in our library .The donations for this project will help my students become tech literate.
Chromebooks will help me teach our scholars how to code, research, and access online library materials .
All of this is part of creating a group of future innovators. We are teaching students how to think and not what to think.
