Future Innovators Media Lab: Empowering STEM Through Creative Media

Help me give my students tools like a storage cart, memory cards, and cameras to capture our school's achievements, build professional portfolios, and reclaim moments lost during the pandemic to help them prepare for media and tech careers.

My Project

Our scholars are bold, talented, and determined to tell their stories in ways that matter. They come from underrepresented communities, bringing a wealth of creativity and unique perspectives that reflect the vibrancy of South Los Angeles.

Many of our students are first-generation college-bound, and this program will help them build professional portfolios that set them apart in college and career applications.

Additionally, this project will serve as a time capsule, allowing scholars to reflect on and document their educational journeys—especially for those who lived through the COVID-19 pandemic and missed the opportunity to capture this critical stage of growth.

Students will use the vlogging kit to document school events, conduct interviews, and produce dynamic videos for the yearbook, social media, and school website. This kit will teach essential storytelling skills like lighting, sound, and composition.

The cameras will capture high-resolution photos of pivotal moments and achievements, ensuring that no part of their journey is forgotten. Scholars will also gain valuable photography skills essential for media production and digital content creation.

The wireless mic system will ensure scholars capture high-quality audio for interviews, events, and video projects, elevating their storytelling and creating content that showcases Crenshaw STEM High School’s achievements.

This program empowers students to develop technical and creative skills while capturing moments that tell their stories and preserve their growth. It’s an opportunity to reclaim lost time and create something lasting.
