My students need this hands-on STEM Structures, Buildings, and Bridges kit to see how real life architects and engineers plan for the future, and execute their plans.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Figueroa's classroom raised $448

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My seventh grade students are amongst the brightest I know. They are part of a competitive and intense dual language studies program. This means their entire learning curriculum is in English and Spanish. We help enrich many cultures by enhancing their bilingual and biliterate skills. To be able to teach them STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) this year is a complete honor.
My STEM students are super excited every time they walk into my class.
They are always interested in what is going to happen next and what we are going to learn. So far this year, we have studied social media, environmental science, forensic science, and game theory in mathematics. I plan on taking their learning to the next level with engineering!
My Project
The next part of my self-created curriculum is to touch up on engineering. Many people do not know the effects engineers have on society and almost everything reflects on the work of an engineer! I plan on starting with teaching my students about the different types of bridges. We will also learn about different physical forces that impact the bridges.
I want my students to be aware of the different STEM career paths that are out there waiting for them.
With the Buildings and Bridges kit, students can apply the knowledge they learned in class with their hands. It will make class more interactive and exciting for our future engineers of America!
