Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in an inner city neighborhood. Most of the students have 2 working parents and many speak a second language at home. The neighborhood our school is located in is diverse, urban setting.

My students are eager young learners.

This school year will be their first exposure to a large public school. The children speak another language at home and are economically challenged. Most students get free lunch.

My students deserve to start their academic careers with as many opportunities as I can provide for them. The are curious and creative. They are full of questions and constantly exploring the world around them.

My Project

Pre-K students will gain hands on experience by engineering and constructing with wooden and pattern blocks to create city scapes, communities and neighborhoods. Pre-K students will build skyscrapers, city blocks, community buildings and their own neighborhood using wooden blocks, wooden vehicles and street signs. The various city building materials will help students understand the world around the city around them. The architectural materials will help them design their communities.

By funding this Pre-K STEM project, you will help my students develop strong math, science and engineering skills.

Students will be given the opportunity to explore these materials and use them to engineer creative structural designs. The materials for this project will help develop critical thinking skills and problem solving strategies. Students will become more confident and proficent in math and science.
