My Project
As a dedicated preschool teacher, I have witnessed firsthand the power of early education in shaping a child’s future. The formative years of a child’s life are critical in fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence. This is especially true for Black boys and girls, who, with the right guidance and resources, can excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Despite the systemic barriers and underrepresentation in STEM, research shows that with early exposure, mentorship, and encouragement, Black men and women succeed and thrive in these disciplines. The "Future Black Engineers and Scientists" initiative aims to address this by cultivating a love for STEM in young learners through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Magnetic Tiles and Building Blocks: To promote spatial reasoning, engineering concepts, and creativity.
STEM-Focused Books: Featuring diverse protagonists and themes to inspire students and introduce them to STEM careers.
Science Kits and Tools: To encourage experimentation and exploration of basic scientific principles.
Technology-Enhanced Learning Tools: Such as tablets with STEM educational apps to make learning interactive and engaging.
Classroom Essentials: Including organizational supplies to create a welcoming and efficient learning environment.
Expected Outcomes

Provide young Black children with access to high-quality STEM resources.
Foster a love for learning and an early interest in STEM fields.
Empower students to see themselves as capable of achieving greatness in engineering, science, and technology.
Contribute to long-term diversity and representation in STEM industries.
