This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My preschoolers belong to a STEAM Magnet Elementary School, predominantly minority, and immigrant students who can greatly benefit from the opportunity to experiment as engineers. These young and creative minds will develop building skills to design their very own planes using their imaginations. The books about planes and pilots will provide prior knowledge to the students.
The different types of building blocks will provide every child a unique method to design his or her airplane.
No plane will be the same! They will use their young minds to play with their classmates and pretend to fly the planes they created.
They will also have the opportunity to make a model plane kit and fly them in the playground. Then we will discuss like engineers why some planes flew far and some did not. Of course, we want every parent to see the children creating and flying their planes. The printer ink will be used to print the pictures the teacher will be taking during the whole process and shared with their parents, and in the school office to encourage other students.
As a result, I hope to inspire as many students to pursue a career in engineering and science. Your donations will be highly appreciated.
