This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The kindergarten students at my school are absolutely wonderful. They are eager to learn and love to share their new learning with others.
Our students are setting the foundation for a lifelong love for learning.
Even though they come from different background and many diverse cultures, they still deserve to have various opportunities to learn and grow in order to become successful in life. I am blessed to work with such a dynamic group of precocious five and six year olds!
My Project
Paper and pencils may seem like "run of the mill" school supplies but only if it is appropriate. My students would greatly benefit from having beginner pencils and writing paper that is specifically designed for young writers.
Having developmentally appropriate material available for emerging writers is crucial.
With the pencil I'm requesting, students will learn how to properly grip and hold a pencil while writing. The paper will be used daily as they begin to express themselves through their writing. Since many of my students are emerging writers, the space at the top of the writing paper is perfect for them to include a picture to support their writing.
