My students need writing paper for second grade, folders, pencils, colored pencils, writing journals, and a subscription to Times for Kids to see examples of exemplary writing from students in their age group.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 26 wonderful Second Grade Students who are motivated and excited about learning. Their goal this year is to focus on becoming better writers, leading to successful authors.
Our goal is to create enough writing to publish a class book.
My students are all Title 1 students. They receive free breakfast and lunch. I also have several students who are homeless. I make sure when my students come to school that they receive as much help as needed. Our classroom is a home for most of my students.
My goal is to help prepare them to become better writers and be able to submit writings to publish a class book. Having the necessary materials such as pencils, journals, folders, and a document reader for class writing lessons would be ideal for my students to become successful.
We would love for someone to offer to donate to our class so that our dreams of becoming an author can become a reality.
My Project
Having the appropriate grade-level materials and supplies are extremely important for beginner writers. The materials and supplies are chosen, such as Second Grade paper, beginner pencils, folders, and a subscription to Times for Kids so that they can see exemplary writing from students their age are a great start. It will make a difference in my students' learning because the requested materials and supplies are the tools that will help them achieve their goals. Having the materials and supplies are "half the battle".
Being prepared and equipped with the necessary tools/materials will help train and lead the students on the road to success!
Studies show that students that come to school prepared and have the necessary materials to work with will keep them motivated and interested in doing their best.
A student that is prepared is motivated, anxious, excited and an enthusiastic learner. Having what it takes to succeed will produce successful students who are willing to do their best always!
