This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an amazing group of K-2 students that for various reasons, including the pandemic are still struggling to be strong readers. They become easily discouraged when they feel that reading grade level books or writing grade level stories is out of their reach due to difficulty. I am hoping to give them better tools such as leveled books, blending cards and even fun games like sight word bingo to get them reinvested and help them regain confidence. I know that by the end of this school year they will not only be confident readers but also students who love to read.
