My Students

I believe that every student should walk into a well-stocked classroom where they will always have the supplies to create, learn, and explore new ideas.

Welcome to a third grade, bilingual classroom full of hard-working, enthusiastic students!

My bilingual classroom is the landing spot for third graders who have just arrived in the United States. My students are incredibly hard workers who always come to school ready to learn, no matter what is going on outside of the classroom. My goal as a teacher is to provide my students with all that they need to be successful learners.

My Project

This project will benefit all 140 incoming third-grade students at my school. Our school community has been one of the hardest-hit areas of New York City in this COVID-19 crisis. Many parents have been out of work and are only beginning to recover economically, while others have been stricken with terrible illnesses due to COVID-19. Because of the jarring economic impact on our families, we would like to surprise our students with all the supplies they will need this year.

Our goal as a third-grade team is to welcome each student into our classrooms, whether in-person or online, and provide them and their families with all the supplies they will need.

This project will greatly benefit our students this year. Expressing their thoughts and feelings through art will be incredibly important in helping our students process everything going on in the world. Giving each student their own set of colored pencils will also allow us to do more art projects with our students regardless of where they are learning. Having a pencil pouch to hold their colored pencils will also allow students to easily take their colored pencils between school and home, where they can also do art in their free time. I hope I can count on your help to make this a reality for all of our 140 incoming third-graders!
