This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My scholars consist of a wide range of personalities that all have one thing in common, the eagerness to grow as scholars. With your support of my project, I will be able to provide my scholars with resources for success and to be physically active.
My goal is to help scholars find a life long physical activity they can enjoy.
My scholars are growing up in a low income area that does not predict their educational trajectory. My scholars will work hard to get smart, have fun, and will be college ready! They are researchers, mathematicians, scientists, authors, historians, etc. My students are the future of Dallas and members of our future society. Every day, they come ready to refine their motor skills and eager to learn about their body.
My Project
In today's world we use technology for about everything. It's important to strike a balance between using technology to encourage physical health and activity. An iPad would be beneficial for my scholars in many ways. For example, it would allow my my scholars to play more fitness activities and demonstrate the importance of setting and meeting a fitness goal.
I want to show my scholars that there are multiple educational apps that can be integrated into Physical Education.
The iPad will be used for the scholars and will provide them with the opportunities to track their physical activity and use video analysis to examine if they perform the skill correctly. There are times where I am on the go, because I don't have a gym. The iPad would allow my scholars to explore and play with fitness apps anywhere. This will show my scholars that you can play and be active by using technology. Most of my scholars do not have the opportunities outside of school to interact with advance technology I know it's only one iPad for an entire physical education program, but it will make a huge difference in the lives of my scholars!
