Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help support our future leaders by providing furniture to our 2nd-grade classroom to help make learning more accessible. These things will help our class significantly with the flow of learning by providing a tool to hold our learning content materials. I plan to use these items for many years to support young scholars. They will be a special part of my classroom and will continue to hold their value every school year.

My plan for the large carpet is to have an inviting space where students can join me for our 6-step phonics learning routine, read-alouds, and show-and-tell moments.

What is so great about it is students will have an easy-to-spot place on the carpet where they can keep their personal space and follow carpet expectations. I plan to use the dry-erase stand as a tool for when I am creating anchor charts. I am very impressed with how mobile it is and that it won't take up too much space. It will be perfect for when my class is working on phonics and when we are having our math number talks.

The bookshelves will be used to store textbooks and student workbooks during my small group instruction, keeping things easily accessible. The pocket chair covers will provide additional storage for students as their desks don't hold much material. The vacuum will be so handy as I wouldn't have to plug it in or switch outlets in between my official vacuum days of the week.

My students have hearts of gold and are so passionate about learning. They tell me every day how excited they are to come to school every day. Please help me give my students furniture that will help support them in their very formative second-grade year.
