My Students
Students need a solid foundation in basic number sense. The best way to build these valuable skills is through games.
My students are wonderful, energetic kindergarten and transitional kindergarten students from a variety of backgrounds.
They attend a Los Angeles Title I public school. They are excited and eager to learn. They love sharing their thoughts and ideas. Some speak languages other than English and are only exposed to English at school.
My Project
My students needs math file folder games, magnetic math activities, counting and number games, patterning and sorting games, and number sense activities. These math center activities will allow me to reach the students who need a little more than a worksheet. They need hands-on materials and manipulatives to spark their learning. I can review the skills with the students that need extra practice using these activities. These games will also be used as reinforcement for independent work while I work in small groups with the students that need more help. These centers will be reinforcing the skills introduced all year long.
We have experienced massive budget cuts over the past few years and there is no end in sight.
Our students are the ones that suffer. They see fewer and fewer resources in the classroom. Without your help, these activities would not be able to be purchased. They need more than just paper and pencil worksheets to build their number sense and learn the needed skills for future success.
