My Students

My fellow educators are tireless in their commitment to providing an under-resourced community of children. Unfortunately, the patterns of segregation and neglect of communities of color in Boston Public Schools mirrors that found nearly every other urban school district in the U.S.

Despite the inequity and sustained injustice, the 38 children in my classroom make every day light with laughter and have become a beloved support for the monumental task of unequal access to education.

Providing a donation would make a huge difference.

My Project

In our classroom, we've been immersed in studying the daily life of the Wampanoag tribe—the Native American tribe that lives in Massachusetts. It's important to me that students are provided with different perspectives and experiences so they can learn about this era with a more thoughtful perspective than the limited narrative provided in textbooks.

Living in Boston, we have the unique opportunity to see a historically accurate depiction of what actually occurred in 1621 in the very place it happened at Plimoth Plantation.

Students will see, hear and feel what it might have been like at the first Thanksgiving as well as meet living Wampanoag people who will provide a realistic perspective of Massachusett's living history.\

Admission to Plimoth is $12 per student. In an effort to avoid adding to the stress of the holidays for families, I'm asking for funding for the admission price. It's a small gesture that can go a long way.
