Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have a Classroom store where students earn and can spend their “classroom bucks” they have earned by completing assignments and exhibiting positive behaviors. The students have changed the name of the classroom bucks to “Fig bucks”, after my name. The students can buy snacks, but they can choose to save for "big ticket" items to teach savings.

The students learn inventory skills by sorting snacks and counting what is left.

They will also take data on the most preferred snacks, as well as what snacks are not favored.

The big ticket items are the headphones that will go for 128 Fig Bucks; the portable electric scoreboard will go for $184 Fig Bucks; and the portable speakers will go for 72 Fig Bucks.

The students have access to the store every Friday, at the end of class.
