This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The school library should be a warm, welcoming and safe space where students can socialize, read and relax. To do so, we need Kleenex, heat, and hand sanitizer to fully be comfortable and safe.
The library is a lively space that hosts book clubs and learning exhibitions; in this case, it's the hub of the student journalism.
Students need food and warm beverages for brainstorming and sharing ideas. They need plates and napkins for celebrations.
Student journalists need to feel professional. They need badges so they can talk to their sources. They need notebooks and pens. Students need whiteboards and signage for brainstorming.
My students are the best in the world. They are creative, silly, curious and beyond brilliant. For them to show their best selves, their human needs have to be met with warmth, food and supplies to work. Please help us out.
