This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom focuses on teaching academics and functional skills simultaneously in an accessible learning environment. This means I am consistently seeking opportunities to teach students essential academic and life skills in new ways. Our OT team works tirelessly to identify need in the fine motor department, and depends on me to follow through. Something we work on often is writing and cutting. Many students in our classroom will need pencils, pens, scissors, and other accessible writing and cutting tools throughout their academic careers.
This project will provide accessible writing and cutting tools to students who need them.
Students deserve the tools they need to be successful in school. This project will be another step in achieving that.
