Teaching basic financial literacy is a must for individuals with special needs to thrive in their community. Functional skills, such as identifying and counting money, will help them be as independent as possible as they grow older.
The materials in this project will help my students learn basic money skills in a fun way.
The cash register can be used during role play when they can practice buying preferred items. This activity will not only improve their math skills but also foster social and communication skills. The laminating pouches, dry erase markers, and other materials will be used to create worksheets to increase their understanding of this math concept.
