My students need five ukuleles for our music enrichment class. With enough ukuleles, each student will get to play on their own instrument.

My Students
There is nothing more exciting in music class than getting to play instruments. Giving my students this experience, one that they might not get anywhere else, is a privelege.
In our small, Title I school district, I teach music to over 300 pre-k through third grade students.
In addition to playing instruments, we sing, move, compose, and have a lot of fun! My students are enthusiastic about learning music, and I want to make sure that they have the materials to get the best education possible.
My Project
Ukuleles are a great introduction to learning a string instrument. With just four strings (as opposed to six on guitar) and simple chord formations, it's a great instrument for my young students to learn. I'll be teaching small groups as part of an enrichment program, and they will be playing simple songs on their very first day of instruction. We'll be able to play some of their favorite songs, and they'll learn how to sing and accompany themselves.
This is such a great opportunity to get instruments in the hands of my students!
They are going to have so much fun learning to play ukulele, and they are going to feel successful.
This is a recipe that will keep my students motivated to keep learning, and one that will surely benefit them in music and beyond.
