This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ENL learners. Learning in English is very challenging especially since many of their parents don't speak English to assist at home. They come from homes that lack educational tools. It is crucial that they get the maximum education they can at school. The neighborhood is labeled as one of poverty. Our school is a title 1 school which is in need of many tools to assist in teaching. Donors choose has made many improvements in the classroom for students like mine.
My Project
My students will be so happy working closely together in groups of six with no interruptions. They are six year olds who need small group instruction daily. We usually sit at desks and at times my small group instruction is paused because some students need things from their desks that we are sitting at. With this kidney table and the six students in small instruction I will be able to focus on the students and the students will be able to focus on instruction. At times we even sit on the floor but its so uncomfortable and the students focus is on other things. This table will mean a lot to us in reaching our academic goals.
