Help me give my students items like word building tiles and build-a-word magnet board for engaging interactive learning tools to enhance their phonics and word building skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful and eager group of students. I try every day to make learning fun and exciting for all of my students. My students are from low-income homes and are English Language Learners. Our school is a Title I school and all of our students qualify for the Free Lunch Program.
I have an amazing group of first graders who come to school every day with the desire to learn!
They love to learn and constantly yearn for new experiences in which they may apply their new knowledge and skills. Our classroom is a safe and caring place where we gather as a community to learn to be respectful and responsible.
My Project
Phonics is an essential part of reading instruction and students need a strong foundation and understanding of phonics. We need ready-to-use materials, for example Touch Read CVC Words Match, Word Building Tiles, and Build-A-Word Magnet Board. You may say “What is phonics?” well, those are the basic word elements we need to read. Every day we do phonics and I try and make it as engaging as possible. However, with these materials for example the Touch Read CVC Words Match it will allow students to practice on their own during Independent Work Time. The Word Building Tiles would help my sweet kiddos with building words and practice reading in small group or independently. We can use Build-A-Word Magnet Board hands-on activities everyday to become better readers.
