My Students
First grade is a very fun place to be! My students are creative, curious, silly, thoughtful, hardworking learners. We like learn through hands-on, interactive and engaging projects that challenge us to think outside the box, while also trying to integrate technology into our everyday routine to prepare to be 21st Century learners.
Not everyone learns the same and being able to provided different materials and tasks that will reach every students learning style will allow them to reach their full potential.
My Project
Our first graders need phonics games for our literacy work stations. Each day students rotate through guided reading groups and literacy work stations. They practice reading books that are their level during guided reading. During station work students are working on building their literacy skills in work stations. The stations that students rotate through can include iPads, buddy reading, game, word work, and work on writing.
Students need games that practice letter sounds, vowel sounds, blends and digraphs.
By getting the complete set of Phonics Magnetic Word Building Boards and fill-in-the-blank phonics stamps, my students will be provided the tools they need to be successful in reading.
