it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic kindergartners who are full of life. They are sweet, smart, and incredibly ready to learn! They are like little sponges, coming in each day, ready to grow and understand even more about their world!
My students are hard workers who love the arts.
I want to inspire them to be more creative and to take more risks. I want them to dream big and know that hard work will help them succeed in everything they do!
My Project
A light table has the ability to draw children's attention in and allows their learning to be enhanced. My students will have the opportunity to manipulate geometric and magnetic shapes, letters, light table color disks and much more on the light table. Children will work on STEM activities by building structures with see through blocks, exploring colors with see through color disks and practice their letter recognition with colorful letters. This light table will encourage children to manipulate objects they may not have been interested in before and allow them to learn while having fun! It will also be used during Family Engagement days such as our Celebration of Learning, where parents and/or families are invited to spend the day with their children at school and learn about what a day in their child's life is like at school. Families love to engage in the learning their students do daily, as they learn through play with their child. Having hands on activities that the kids can do with their parents, help foster not only a love for learning, but also gives parents ideas on how to learn through play with their child at home too. The light table will also be used in the dramatic play learning lab so students can use it as a dinner table, a counter at a doctors office, or a check out counter at a grocery store. This light table will have multiple uses throughout the year, and I know that my students will love having it in our classroom.
