Fun With Fine Motor!

My students need engaging fine motor take-home kits that they can use with their families.

My Students

My students are very energetic and love to do hands-on activities. They are very social and still learning how to interact with their peers. My students love to learn through movement and play.

Although my students are very different in where they are with their educational needs, they are very supportive and push their peers to be the best they can be.

As a class, we love learning together in fun engaging ways. We love our Kindergarten family and all the fun things that we do!

My Project

For many children writing can be difficult. Many times kindergardeners struggle with writing because their fine motor skills are not fully developed. I want to help the children in my class develop these skills and have fun while doing it. I am asking for fine motor games such as the ice cream shop and gum ball grab where students use tweezers to strengthen the muscles in their fingers and prepare them to use a pencil. I am also putting snap letter cubes in these kits so that children can build words and work on their fine motor simultaneously. The kits will contain other strengthening activities such as therapy putty and light table activities were they will engage in making patterns and working with small manipulatives ultimately building those small muscles in their hands that they need to write.

Having a home and school connection is something that is very important to me.

I want to create fine motor kits that the students in my class can take home and work on with their families. I think that the kits will provide students with the help that they need and give them fun engaging activities that will bring them closer with their families. Ultimately, I think these kits will help the children in my class improve their fine motor skills and enjoy writing even more then they already do.
