This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 3rd graders are motivated and enthusiastic learners! My students come from diverse cultural backgrounds, and many of them are English Language Learners or special needs students and come from low socio-economic households. Each and every one of them is unique with their own set of special strengths and abilities.
They are inner-city kids facing many challenges in this time of crisis in our country, but they wake up every morning, happy and ready to learn and engage with their school family.
They are continuously engaged and show up to our virtual classroom every morning with a smile. My kids are sweet and funny, and look forward to engaging with each other even more now that they are unable to be together. They also continue to work hard and put their best effort into their work, despite the challenges that remote learning presents. My students are the most amazing group of kids that will surely have the brightest of futures!
My Project
During this time of the year, as the school year is ending, I love to engage my students in super fun activities; one of them being going outside to play in our school yard or taking weekly trips to a nearby park. During this time, we just have FUN! They have worked so hard all year and it's a time in which we get to relax and enjoy each other. We play, we laugh, and we play some more!
This unexpected world pandemic has changed things a lot and put these activities to a stop, as my students and I have been engaging in remote learning.
During these challenging times, they still show up to learn and with their inquisitive little minds and determined little hearts they have continued to work hard despite the circumstances. End of year activities and celebrations are not the same. We can't play and have fun with each other the way that we would have under normal circumstances.
I want to give my wonderful and amazing students the gift of FUN for the end of this school year! I want them to remember that they are still kids, and that even though things are a little different now, they can still live life and have FUN!! The end of year care package that I want to give them includes slime, bubbles, Play-Doh, sidewalk chalk, watercolor paints, drawing paper, UNO card game, and a how to draw book. My teacher heart wants to make their little hearts happy, their eyes shine brightly, and their beautiful smiles beam across their faces as I give them a gift of FUN! It's a small gift that will help keep them busy and enjoying their summer during this world pandemic.
