This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty amazing 3rd grade students that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with, both in and out of the classroom. Our school is a low income Title I school that offers free breakfast and lunch to all children. My students have a wide variety of learning styles and levels, all of which deserve the best education possible. Every student in my classroom is unique, and everyone in the room respects each other. I care about my students and they know it!

My goal, as a bilingual teacher, is to encourage my students to love learning and to develop lifelong independent learners.

I especially love that my students try their best on everything that comes their way. They love to read and enjoy hands-on activities. They are great helpers, and I know I can count on them. Every day​, I make sure to instill good qualities that will make them amazing citizens. I want my students to remember me when they grow up, so I make them feel welcome, safe, and important on a daily basis!

My Project

Motivating my students is something I strive to do on a daily basis. My 3rd graders enjoy having fun supplies to use while working in class. I am requesting scented pencils to help motivate them while writing and working in class. Each student will be able to choose a scent they love! They struggle with writing and I am sure these scented pencils will get them excited to write!

Student motivation is key to academic success!

Markers are used on a weekly basis by my students and I. My students have an interactive notebook for each core subject in class where they take notes and add activities. They allow them to be creative and express their own ideas. The number one request I usually receive for these activities is if they can outline in marker. Therefore, I would love to surprise them with this jumbo sized box of Crayola markers. I also use markers to create colorful anchor charts to display around the room based on what my students are learning. The caddies I am requesting will hold all the pencils and markers that they need to use in class everyday. Please help me bring these much needed supplies to my 3rd graders!
