My Students

I teach 23 first graders in a low-income/high poverty district in East Texas. My students come from working families that value education but do not always have the resources or educational background to provide reinforcement of skills learned at school. When they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. Despite the challenges both in and out of the classroom, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are clever, imaginative and very spontaneous.

They like to move, they love to read, and love lots of positive attention. They deserve the best education possible. These students need materials that will help keep their interest and motivate their desire to learn.

My Project

Our classroom needs some new stations kits, puzzles and games. My students work in small group stations for reading and math while I have small groups working with me. These kits and puzzles help our room run smoothly and keep the students excited and engaged. We need some new stickers to use for our book in a bag reading rewards. The blank books will be used to record responses from our leveled books we read for homework. The educational videos will be used for indoor recess and snack time. My students are so excited to get some brand new materials for learning.
