This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all English language learners living in the inner city. All my students receive free lunches. They all come from different countries in Latin America. They are eager to learn daily. It brings a smile to my face every morning that I greet them with a smile, a hug, or a high five. They enjoy learning new things such as listening to reading, writing, math, art, dance, sensory games, and cooking.
My students are committed to learning.
They show up on time every day prepared to take advantage of our public school system education. Our school has limited funding at this time to provide my preschoolers with a workbook and a toy to make this Christmas a bit cheerful regardless of the situation our country is going through.
There is no doubt in my mind that my students will be so grateful for these gifts.
My Project
The use of sensory table materials will help my preschoolers with fine motor skills, relationships and vocabulary. Children at this age are very shy at the beginning of the school year. The way they develop relationships is through play, what better way that at a sensory table.
I love seeing my student play at the sensory table, the rich vocabulary, their joyous faces and happiness is priceless.
These materials will be use during indoor learning activities and outdoor learning activities. The sand, the beads, and the digging kit will enhance their learning environment!
