Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 2nd-grade students come from low-income homes with diverse experiences and backgrounds. They enter the classroom with varying social and academic abilities. Regardless, these children always exhibit positive attitudes with respect to learning and collaborating with peers.
These wonderful kiddos have spent the past 1.5 years doing virtual learning and could not be more excited to be back in person!
They truly deserve an amazing school year where they can socialize, interact, and learn with peers.
My Project
The math games will allow students to practice concepts that we learn in the classroom. They can play with a peer or in a small group and challenge one another. The drawing stencils will be great for helping students discover their possible love for art! They will be able to create drawings that are fun and easy. Last but not least, the charades will be a fun group game for the students. They can explore their acting skills and simply enjoy the moment! These are all fun and engaging alternatives to their usual tablet games, and I know they will love it!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
