Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an energetic bunch! They are full of curiosity and keep me on my toes.
They are special because they, like anyone, have the desire to communicate, but may have some difficulty at times.
My students live in a lower socioeconomic area and some of the parents do not speak or read fluent English to know what their rights are to ask for help. Besides their current situation, my students have shown me that they have the potential to be very successful if they have a communication tool to "bridge the gap". My students love to express themselves through music, dancing and art. They love to share what they can do to others, because like everyone, they just want to connect.
My Project
My students love new materials and in special education, where I teach kinder to 2nd grade, where it is easy to do the same thing that can be a little boring for some of my older students. I would like to make the content varied and stimulating for those students. Other teachers know what students like, so that is why I picked Teachers Pay Teacher, because we all need to support each other. I am hoping to add more science and inclusive teaching practices to my curriculum for many years ahead.
