it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever spent your whole recess waiting for your turn to play in the four-square, soccer, football, or basketball game? My students have, and it's no fun!!! Without enough sports equipment to go around, students spend their time waiting & standing around, rather than playing and having fun.
My amazing third graders are a diverse group of individuals with varying needs, abilities, and interests.
They are eager learners, and are ready to soak up all the new knowledge that comes their way! In addition, they love to be outside running, playing, and letting out all their energy. However, in order for them to continue having fun in the sun, they are in dire need of some new sports equipment!
My Project
Healthy, physically active kids are also more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful. Therefore, it's been my goal to continually provide my students with a wide variety of outdoor movement activities. The soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, and playground balls will enable my students to take part in daily recess activities and weekly physical education activities that help promote team building skills, and a healthy lifestyle. The sports equipment from this project will also enable my students to strengthen their social and emotional skills, help develop their communication skills, improve their confidence, and also improve their overall health.
ALL students should spend their recesses playing and having fun, rather than waiting in line and getting in trouble.
In addition, educating third graders about the importance of health, fitness and nutrition gives them the tools they need to make good lifestyle choices in the future. Please help increase the amount of positive physical activity opportunities that my students have during the school day by donating to our project.
